    Gis Technician

    Job Purpose    

    • To capture, maintain and disseminate Corporate Geographic Information System (GIS) data and provide GIS technical support to different projects. 

    This post reports to GIS SPECIALIST

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Capture and manipulate corporate spatial and attribute data.
    • Perform technical and spatial analysis on digital and hardcopy information.
    • Perform manipulation, conversion or translation of data to usable formats.
    • Maintain comprehensive records of GIS work completed.
    • Provide basic GIS end user support.
    • Keep abreast of GIS technology advancements.

    Special Conditions:

    • Posts of GIS technicians are interchangeable within the unit 

    Essential Requirements    

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in the GIS field (NQF 6/7).
    • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
    • 2 Years relevant experience in the GIS and cadastral survey field.

    Preferred Requirements    

    • 3 Years relevant experience.
