    Receptionist: Spa - George

    Qualifications & Experience:        

    • Grade 12 or equivalent, coupled with 1 year experience as a Receptionist or in a front office in a 4* or 5* hotel and/or spa environment,
    • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite,
    • A Tourism / Hospitality / Customer Service qualification and working knowledge of any booking and point-of-sales system will be advantageous.

    Duties & Responsibilities (areas and indicators listed are not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time):            

    • Managing all activities related to the Guests experience,
    • Attending to Guest requests, queries and complaints,
    • Handling cash and credit card transactions in a confidential manner,
    • Balancing the cash float issued and completing banking procedures,

    Irrigation Technician - George

    Qualifications & Experience:        

    The ideal candidate will be a reliable and responsible worker, who passed Grade 12 and has gained at least 2 years’ experience working as an Irrigation Handyman at a golf course irrigation installation company and must have 3 years of golf course maintenance experience. An added advantage will be basic plumbing experience.

    The ideal candidate must have good hand-eye coordination and must also be able to work after hours to fix irrigation leaks

    Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Ensuring the overall effective functioning of and diagnosing faults on the irrigation system;
    • Carrying out preventative maintenance on pipes and cables;
    • Cleaning and maintaining sprinklers, satellite and pump stations;
    • Ensuring that all sprinklers are fully operational, working according to their arcs and clear of debris.

    Events Manager - George

    Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Research and create new events to be hosted at Fancourt,
    • Ensure the planning and coordination before the event is flawless, so that the running of the event is smooth and seamless,
    • Manage event budgets,
    • Strong focus on growing the advertising knowledge and scope in terms of online footprint for events,
    • Understand the complex needs of different events and how they will positively impact bottom line revenue,
    • Responsible for planning all event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, decor and coordinating event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers,
    • Manage and oversee events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors, and managing take-down,
    • Communicate with the marketing team to create effective advertisements for each event,
    • Create sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events,
    • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports.

    Operations Manager (Golf) - George

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • The ideal candidate will manage the Outside Golf Operation whilst providing an excellent golfing experience for members and guests. A minimum of Grade 12 with 3 years’ experience in golf operations; a working knowledge of MS Office, working experience on bookings & point-of-sales systems are essential, as well as a valid driver’s license.
    • A Club Management or PGA diploma is critical to being able to deliver in this role, and a working knowledge of SAP will be advantageous.

    The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, have good people skills, must be able to provide guests/ members with excellent service and must be reliable, honest and organised.
     
    Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Manage all staff in the Outside operations (monitor leave, time & attendance, discipline, training etc.). The ideal candidate would have experience of performing all the roles required in a Golf Operations team;
    • Coordinate and execute member events and tournaments (must have the ability to run a members event on his/her own);
    • Ensure smooth communication within the golf operation departments;
    • Control all handicaps for Fancourt affiliates and address all issues relating to handicaps (it will be beneficial if the candidate plays and understand the game for golf);
    • Conduct a bi-annual Asset Audits; conduct monthly OE counts and submit reports to the Golf Director;
    • Monitor the Golf Operations expenses; ensure golf rounds are captured correctly and report monthly to the Golf Director.

    • Must be prepared to work weekends & Public holidays;
    • Must be able to work long and late hours on request;

    Housekeeper (Hotel) - George

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills, have a friendly attitude towards people, can comfortably and engagingly communicate with colleagues, superiors and guests, have strong leadership abilities, and attention to detail.
    • The position requires that the candidate have a minimum qualification of Grade 12 coupled with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position in  a 4*/5* environment . A driver’s license will be ideal. Computer literacy on MS Office, Opera / Fidelio, and time and attendance systems, will be an advantage. 

    Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Manage daily running of the Housekeeping department including coordinating room activities, VIP checks, stock take and weekly staffing rosters;
    • Provide daily, weekly and monthly operational updates to Executive Housekeeper;
    • Manage, plan, allocate and evaluate room attendants and houseman;
    • Communicate relevant information, identify training needs and;
    • Be responsible for stock take and replacements;
    • Must be willing and able to assist with other duties / projects from time to time.

    Handyman (Hotel Maintenance) - George

    Qualifications & Experience:

    The position also requires that the candidate has a minimum qualification of Grade 12 or equivalent, and 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role. The successful candidate must have reliable transport. Experience within a 4*/5* environment will be advantageous.

    Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Provide overall maintenance;
    • To provide both preventive and repair maintenance;
    • Minor carpentry and plumbing projects;
    • Configuring and moving furniture;
    • Replacing lightbulbs & painting;
    • Assist the maintenance team as needed;
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Demi Chef de Partie - George

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • The ideal candidate will be creative, have a keen eye for detail, be able to work in a fast paced, highly pressurised environment, be able to lift, carry and handle large utensils and food produce and be able to work long and flexible hours.
    • This position also requires that the candidate have a minimum qualification of Grade 12 or equivalent, and 6 months formal chef’s training, coupled with at least 2 years working experience as a Commis Chef in a quality production kitchen. Experience within a 4*/5* environment will be advantageous.

    Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Food quality & preparation – monitor food delivery & quality; prepare food as per specific area, according to specified menus, standards and in line with costing and portions;
    • Care of operating equipment – cleaning & correct storage;
    • Advise senior chefs of food status at end of shift;
    • Adherence to all health & safety requirements including utmost cleanliness, recycling, pest control & general waste management.

    Cleaner (Golf Course Maintenance) - George

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • We need someone who is friendly and guest centric with a minimum of Grade 10 and general cleaning knowledge.

    Duties include, but are not limited to: 

    • Clean all areas as prescribed
    • Keep all areas in a sanitary condition
    • Replenish supplies when required
    • Assist with ordering of stock and coordinates delivery
    • Report all maintenance issues to Supervisor / Manager
