    Financial Accountant - TygerValley

    An exciting opportunity for the position of Financial Accountant is now available.

    A growing Retail Footgear company is searching for an achiever with high energy levels and a passion for business success, who is task driven, a problem solver, with attention to detail and handling of pressure, is expected from the prospective candidates.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
    Duties include but will not be limited to:

    • Review and reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger
    • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, ensuring that reconciling items are constantly monitored and actioned.
    • Manage the banking reconciliation team, reviewing and ensuring all variances are addressed.
    • Manage monthly closing process, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts, computation and processing of monthly journals.
    • Calculate and submission of monthly VAT 201 returns
    • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
    • Monitor, review and implement internal financial controls across the business
    • Preparing audit support schedules for the year-end audit and interacting with external auditors
    • Prepare IFRS16 lease calculations and schedules for the audit
    • Assist with the annual tax schedules
    • Reviewing of weekly and monthly payments
    • Reviewing and/or preparing of insurance claims
    • Preparing monthly management pack reports, including comparisons and explanations for significant variations between budget and actuals
    • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
    • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, motivation and mentorship

    Requirements

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree B.Com (with Accounting) / BCompt or equivalent
    • Completed SAICA/SAIPA Articles
    • Minimum 2-3 years post-article experience are essential.

    Experience:

    • Retail Industry experience(preferred)
    • Advance Excel skills (essential)
    • Experience with Sage X3 ERP would be advantageous.
    • Familiar with the latest IFRS knowledge (essential)

    Cashbook Clerk -Tygervalley

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Processing of interbank transfers and cashbook transactions
    • Reconciling point-of-sale income to bank account receipts and CIT reports per branch
    • Regular follow up and reporting on any outstanding receipts per branch
    • Processing of relevant journals and reconciling of bank and control accounts
    • Resolving any store banking related queries
    • Processing of debit orders bank charges and interbank transfers.
    • Filing and general administration

    JOB DESCRIPTION: 

    • Reconciling POS sales to receipts declared and investigation of any variances timeously (variance between theoretical and actual cash up)
    • Reporting variances due to cashier negligence to HR on a weekly basis.
    • Assist stores with any cash desk related queries and other cash related queries they might have
    • Reconciling receipts (cash and card) declared to bank deposits and investigation of any variances timeously.
    • Escalating any deposits outstanding for more than 3 days to the head of the cash department or external parties where deemed necessary
    • Performing bank account reconciliations on SAGE X3 ERP system.
    • Preparing all cashbook journals timeously and accurately at each month end for review for processing into SAGE
    • Any other adhoc finance related task as requested and deemed necessary

    Requirements

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 along with a tertiary financial qualification or studying towards completing one
    • 3 - 5 Cashbook experience essential, desirably in a retail environment
    • Experience with Sage X3 ERP would be advantageous
    • Sound Excel skills, being able to perform basic functions
