    Executive Secretary

    Road Plant Operator

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Operates items of plant relevant to wastewater reticulation operations.
    • Performs administrative functions i.e. completion of vehicle log sheets and other related documentation.
    • Utilises knowledge of road safety to perform duties in compliance with safety standards.
    • Communicates by two-way radio.

    Maintenance Inspector

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Undertakes regular planned inspections and maintenance of sewer network including trunk sewers, overhead pipe bridges, tunnels, rising mains, river crossings, penstock, valves, chambers etc.
    • Completes documentation including vehicle log sheets, job cards, maintenance reports, customer documentation, results of investigations and sketch plans.
    • Uses specialised equipment i.e. vetter bags, metal detectors, cable detectors, air and pressure gauges and regulators to ensure day to day operations are efficient.
    • Undertakes the installation of flow monitoring equipment in conjunction with relevant technician.
    • Provides technical back up to other field staff and investigates complaints as directed by Superintendents and reports back accordingly.
    • Verifies sewer faults to determine if private or public mains and liaises with customers and Control Centre thereon.
    • Liaises with the public, other departments/organisations and assists superintendent with trouble shooting.
    • Monitors contractors, advising on better methods where appropriate as well as the performance and conduct of subordinate staff and reports back to the Superintendents.
    • Assists the Superintendent in maintaining the Departments policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Carries out maintenance on sewerage drainage systems.
    • Repairs damaged manholes/pipes and builds new brick or precast ring manholes were required.

    Chief Technologist (Electronic/Electrical)

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Provides advice/information and guidance on the principles, procedures and applications associated with the technical operations.
    • Determines the major objectives for the Electronics Division in discussion with appropriate Managers, formulates strategic decisions and detailed operational plans, initiates the work and monitors and evaluates the progress on such plans, taking corrective action when required.

    • Evaluates and adjudicates tenders for the supply, installation and commissioning of electronic equipment and prepares contract documentation in light thereof.
    • Co-ordinates and controls tasks/activities associated with controlling personnel performance, appraisals, productivity and discipline.

    • Compiles and updates basic and complex specifications and standards of broadly available and unavailable technical systems within the Communication Network.
