    Insights manager

    Job description

    British American Tobacco currently has a very exciting opportunity for an Insights Manager to join our team based in Cape Town, South Africa.

    You will lead the process of market and business environment insight generation within the company and identify business risks/opportunities based on an analysis of market trends and quality integration of different information sources. Your role will be to manage the marketing information platform and ensure the availability of marketing information and relevant market insights. You will also provide related tactical and strategic advice and solid information to the Management Team on market and consumer dynamics to support Marketing Strategy formulation and business decision-making.

    Essential Requirements

    • Post graduate degree in Business/ Marketing Management, Psychology, Econometrics, Ec
    • Sound understanding of Brand and Trade Strategy development
    • In-depth understanding of the inter-relationship between different consumer and trade research data sources and sample structures, i.e. strengths and limitations. Application thereof in the development of business insights
    • Minimum 8 years experience in similar FMCG category with an in-depth understanding of all facets of marketing information, the strengths and limitations of different data sources
    • Experience in interpreting marketing information data and presenting conclusions to senior management.

    Great opportunity for an HR Coordinator to join our team, based in Cape Town, South Africa. Are you ready for a new challenge?You will support the HR Business Partner team through delivering administrative duties as well as the coordination of certain team activities.

    Key Deliverables

    Sustainability and External Affairs Manager

    Job description

    British American Tobacco South Africa, has a new opportunity for an ambitious individual to join our LEX team based in Pretoria, as a Sustainability and External Affairs Manager.

    Your role will be to support the SAA External Affairs Team to shape the regulatory environment in the Area and to enable business growth. Also, you will support the Head of Regulation and Corporate Affairs Manager to shape the external business environment in the end markets.

    Key deliverables

    External Affairs

    • Ensure the effective running of the Regulatory Governance Committee Meetings for the Area and facilitate the Annual SAA Government Affairs Strategy Session
    • Support Campaign Plan Managers and the Head of Regulation by crafting campaign plans in order to respond to future and published draft regulations.

    Sustainability

    • Support, develop and refine the sustainability data gathering and management systems across the company

    • Provide advice, guidance and assistance to the business on its B-BBEE performance
    • Manage the annual B-BBEE verification audit
    • Support the B-BBEE board of the company
    • Take responsibility for the implementation and management of CSI projects
    • Support the CSI Trust of the company
    • Manage ongoing and effective engagement with stakeholders to ensure the success of CSI projects
    • Implement and manage an effective employee volunteering programme across the business

    Essential Requirements

    • Honours or post-graduate Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce degree in Politics; value and policy studies or a related degree;
    • Minimum 3 years in a middle management role in a Regulatory or Corporate Affairs department, specialising in BBBEE and Sustainability;

    HR Executive

    Job description

    British American Tobacco South Africa currently has a great opportunity for an HR Executive. If you are ready for a new challenge in the HR field - this is a great chance.

    Join us and you will support the Head of HRBP’s Commercial by providing HR Generalist services to the Corporate Services Functions. Also, you will ensure alignment between HR Strategy and these business units and ensure the delivery of appropriate people management solutions.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • The role will act as the link between the allocated head office functions, ensuring a high level of service excellence and support.
    • The incumbent will communicate with and advise Line Managers regarding HR related practices, policies and procedures thereby providing an efficient service to Line and enhancing the established business relationship.
    • Communicate, consult and assist Line Managers regarding IR issues to ensure fair labour practices and positive morale.
    • Supports the management of career development and succession planning processes for the allocated Head Office functions by
    • Preparing for and supporting the functional TRM’s.
    • Taking follow up actions as a result of TRM’s
    • Compiling resourcing needs based on TRM’s
    • Providing input to the consolidated company TRM’s
    • Supporting the Head of HRBP’s Commercial in the Talent Review Process
    • Facilitates the Performance Management processes (performance planning, monitoring and review) for allocated functions to enhance the performance culture.
    • Coordinates and co-facilitates the position grading process and management of the salary review processes (annual / interim increases or promotions) for allocated functions ensuring compliance with British American Tobacco remuneration policies.
    • In consultation with the Head of HRBP’s Commercial, assists in the development and implementation of strategies to embed certain HR common platforms and best practices that will ensure self-sufficiency in the local context.
    • Participates fully as project member on identified HR projects.
    • Provides HR support to functional renewal processes, e.g. restructuring
