    PURPOSE:

    • Custodian of Electrical Engineering for feasibility studies and ensure discipline engineering standards and specifications are defined and maintained throughout study development

    • Assist in development of occupational and primary health services and processes for administrative, systems and record keeping

    • Manage Senior Occupational Nurse and Occupational Nurses' Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)
    • Proactively anticipate future occupational and primary health service requirements
    • Draft and implement strategies to optimise staffing and services
    • Motivate and inspire staff to excel at their jobs and strive for excellence
    • Ensure staff resources are efficiently deployed and staff members undertake appropriate training and development
    • Support, coach and mentor direct reports in skills/knowledge development to ensure they have necessary capabilities

    Financial Management 

    • Prepare a risk-based budget and control annual medical budget by forecasting operational costs, monitoring expenditure and cash flow
    • Allocate and monitor utilisation of financial resources and capital expenditure provided to medical SHE operations
    • Manage resources and assets effectively
    • Obtain approval of relevant contracts and documentation in line with Company Financial Governance and SHE budgetary stipulations
    • Identify opportunities and implement measures to reduce costs

    Internal Business Processes 

    • Assist and supervise the Senior Occupational Health Nurse in managing Occupational injuries, occupational and chronic diseases, and safe keeping of medical records in accordance with legislation
    • Report and investigate health and hygiene incidents
    • Implement Company Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) strategy and Tuberculosis (TB) programme
    • Contribute to the management of chronic diseases

    Senior Mine Surveyor - Kriel

    PURPOSE:

    • To control and direct surveying activities required in terms of existing legislation.
    • Assist mine management with investigations to determine future production projections and identify solutions to existing or anticipated mining problems.
    • To manage the mine surveying services to ensure an effective surveying service delivery in accordance with the Business Unit policies, systems and procedures that are legally compliant and adhere to sound corporate governance principles.
    • Managing project delivery in such a manner as to ensure customer satisfactions.

    MAJOR CHALLENGES:

    • Assist the Manager Surveying to ensure legal compliance with the requirements of Chapter 17 of the Mine Health and Safety Act with regards to surveying, mapping and mine plans is maintained for the allocated mining operation.

    Provide Rock Engineering support to Senior Rock Engineer and deliver Rock Engineering Training across the group to all underground operations.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Confirm in collaboration with senior rock engineer that sufficient and appropriate geotechnical data is collected, captured and validated to facilitate geotechnical designs that conform to international best practices
