    Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor (P000169)

    Job description

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • The person to be appointed in this position is responsible to teach primarily in the field of Systematic theology to undergraduate students in the relevant theological programs.
    • The person needs at least a doctorate in Systematic theology on NQF level 10. Knowledge and experience in another theological discipline, e.g. African practical theologies or theologies in Africa will be a recommendation.
    • On postgraduate level, the position requires that the person to be appointed equips students with critical skills to,  understand recent developments in the field of Systematic theology, and subsequently contribute to research in the fields. Evidence of published research will therefore be necessary.

    Lecturer in Nutrition (nGAP) (P003794)

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • The Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and community engagement within the Dietetics and Nutrition program.
    • The appointee will be recruited and appointed according to the guidelines of the DHET’s New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) phase 11. The appointee will be required to register for and complete a doctoral degree and gradually be integrated as permanent academic staff member within the six years of the nGAP development trajectory.
    • Teaching responsibilities may include one or more of the following areas: therapeutic nutrition, community nutrition, food service management, and nutrition research.
    • The nGAP is a national initiative aimed at developing the next generation of academics through a structured six-year developmental programme, addressing historical under-representation in the higher education sector.     PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • Lecturer will be involved in teaching and learning, research and innovation and community engagement activities.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • To provide academic leadership and guidance, innovation, and initiative with regards to research in the Research Unit Self-Directed Learning and lead the RU to become a Centre of Excellence.

    Lecturer in Industrial Engineering With Sustainable Mining (nGAP) (P003793)

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • The nGAP position in the School of Industrial Engineering (SIE) and Centre for Sustainable Mining (CSM) is part of the SSAUF initiative by the DHET to improve the academic staffing at South African universities.
