    Associates – Imports Planner (Durban)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Streamlines Import shipping and transportation processes
    • Ability to place orders and communicate with foreign suppliers
    • Good understanding and ability to comprehend Proforma Invoice contents
    • Ability to keep costs down where possible demurrage and detention etc.
    • Ability to work with freight forwarders and advise on freight forwarding procedure
    • Communication with shipping companies and transporter to assure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction
    • Inter-branch invoicing to the brand/branches once clearing process is completed
    • Have knowledge and a basic understanding of South African and international customs clearance laws, procedures, and regulations for freight forwarding.
    • Planning and maintaining good relations with all parties involved in logistics of moves
    • Accurate, timeous administration; ability to understand Share Point and RPA
    • Obtain required quotes from freight forwarders, ability to decipher estimates and communicate back to applicable stakeholders

    Field Quality Specialist - Durban

    The Specialist will be responsible for group quality functions of Laundry, MDA and SDA products. All Field Quality related tasks related to Imports, Exports and Locally manufactured goods.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    QUALITY

    Lead - Spares (Ladysmith)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To control and manage the spares department in order to provide an efficient service to branches, customers and service department in line with regional and national objectives.
    • Implicit in the responsibilities is the achievement of sales budgets as well as stringent stock control measures.
    • Accurately manage stock take activities and cycle counts.
    • Co-ordinate the annual financial year end full stock count
    • Ensure that branch replenishment orders and warranty orders are kept to an optimum level.

    • Working knowledge of SAP with WM will be a distinct advantage.
    • Industrial relations certificate or studying towards same.

    Manager - National Warehouse (Midrand)

    We are on a search for an experienced Logistics and Supply Chain professional to take on the roles of National Warehouse Manager. This role will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day performance of all warehouses in the Defy network, including driving warehouse excellence, consolidating operations standards, driving warehouse consistency and performance.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Optimize customer service and output performance from the warehouses while ensuring the warehouses are operating safely, at the right cost, and optimization, and ensuring stock integrity across the network.
    • Jacob’s factory warehouse management.
    • Inspection of 3PL warehouses at Danskraal, Midrand, Polokwane, Cape town
    • Safety and Security standards within the warehouses
    • Overall OPEX and CAPEX Budget and performance reviews for all warehouses, to ensure cost controls are in place and budgets are met so that wastage and losses are minimized across the network.
    • Management of ZBB project for helping improvement of OPEX
    • Driving standardization of systems and processes across the warehouses to ensure optimal efficiencies, maximum capacity utilization and warehouse excellence.
    • Overall consolidation of stock control and stock integrity across the warehouses including WCM in the warehouses.
    • National Warehouse strategy development and execution including partnering with HR and Warehouses managers on engagement strategies for the shop floor and union.
    • Management of Non-A-Prime stocks

    MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

    • 7-9 years Logistics and Warehouse management experience, including experience with Union engagements, driving operational excellence, process and system development and performance optimization.
    • Strong record of performance delivery through others, across multiple sites and a broad portfolio
    • Qualification in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Logistics and operations management. ( Master Degree on Supply Chain Management is preferred )

    Senior Specialist – Digital Content

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Build and manage Digital Brand strategies for the 3 Brands and ensure alignment to the Brand CI’s.
    • Provide strategic advice and guidance on Brand requirements for Digital for the 3 Brands to relevant stakeholders.
    • Start to drive Brand strategies and campaigns for the Brand outside of Digital.

    • Advise on best channels to support the event.
    • Support Brand Specialist with Influencer Management and reporting.
    • Leverage Meta channels to amplify Influencer Content and Paid Partnerships.

    Spares Advisor (Midrand)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Achieving the branch spares sales budget.
    • Ensuring tele-selling to customers.
    • Process picking list for sales orders.
    • Pick and pack spares.

    Specialist - Production

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Actively achieve daily production targets.

    • Maintain good interpersonal relations within the Department.

    • Complete shifts reports and ensure the smooth handover of shifts through the completion of the shift change report
    • Maintains acceptable staff and employee relations through the application of good interpersonal skills
    • Maintains good housekeeping practice through the weekly application of the housekeeping inspection report

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Relevant production qualification.
    • 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
    • Computer Literacy is essential.
    • A technical background coupled with quality assurance will be an advantage.
    • Sound knowledge of ISO 14000, JIT and TQM principles will be an advantage.

    Specialist QA (Mechatronics Engineer)

    The specialist will be responsible for all quality improvement projects on Jacobs Cooking and Top loader manufacturing plant. Introduction of reliability lab and extensive involvement in automation projects (Qlive), roll out of best practices within the Jacobs plant.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Reliability Lab: Introduce/maintain component reliability lab on Jacob’s site

    • Create & prepare layout of reliability lab
    • Develop test method & prepare equipment for testing
    • Create methodology for testing components in line with HQ

    Automation Projects: Quality Improvement Automation projects

    • Develop Turnkey solution for quality control gates to be introduced to eliminate human error and improve safety with mechatronic background.

    • IQC: SAP QM Introduction & automate control points
    • Metrology: SAP calibration

    Measuring Arm Introduction/Maintain to Metrology:

    • Create long term plan for measuring arm improvement in measuring (3D scans etc)

    • Checking fixture for every pressed part according to the ISIR Master sample to be created and used by the press operator to reduce deviation from the approved part. The employee is not limited to only perform the tasks listed, additional task will be assigned by the Line manger that will need to be attended to at request based on priority.

    Minimum requirements

    • Grade 12.
    • BSc Degree/B Tech in Mechanical/ Mechatronic Engineering.
    • Automation Background a must.
    • Creating Automated solution advantageous.
    • Advanced Communication, project management skills a must.

    Specialist – Digital Marketing (Fixed Term Contract)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders in the business and in the Global team to ensure the 3 brand website requirements and objectives are alignment to the Brand CI’s
    • Design and develop new web pages, website features, and functionalities using HTML, CSS, JavaScript if necessary, as the platforms are template based off Adobe AEM
