    Talent Officer - Durban

    CORE PURPOSE:

    To create and develop a pool of talent, consisting of students and alumni, who are work-ready or advancing their careers, whilst creating partnerships with various corporates to further enhance the Employability agenda and focus.

    CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

    • Identify and develop suitable corporate partnerships with a variety of industries, both locally and internationally
    • Assist with the filling in of vacancies within various occupational levels
    • Evaluate and improve job profiles and job descriptions for all positions received from partner companies
    • Advertise vacancies on relevant publications, job boards, social media platforms, student/ alumni platforms, and the internal applicant tracking system
    • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement the marketing campaign linked to student and alumni placement opportunities
    • Maintain and update the recruitment platforms and websites/ pages with up-to-date vacancies and information
    • Conduct fair, objective, job-relevant screening, reference checks, and selection of job applicants for short-listing and interview
    • Prepare students and alumni for available vacancies through some employability initiatives, such as work
    • readiness module completion, CV writing, interview prep, etc
    • Follow up with corporate partners on psychometric or other relevant screening methods to align to
    • Communicate with corporate partners throughout the process to track student/ alumni placement progress
    • Track progress and provide a tracking report in this regard
    • Monitor, evaluate, and make suggestions for improvement to the process
    • Ensure all recruitment documentation is stored accurately, documented, and tracked
    • Compile weekly/monthly reports with updates on progress and tracking of KPIs
    • Maintain quick turnaround time to fill vacancies
    • Report on partnerships created and maintained
    • Work closely with the Employability team and Career Centre services concerning placement opportunities, partnership initiatives, student/ alumni engagements and surveys, webinars/ in-person sessions, etc.
    • Host virtual and in-person sessions related to work readiness and career advancement opportunities
    • Participate in MANCOSA-related events such as boot camps, graduation, launches, etc.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Relevant Bachelor's qualification or similar
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a recruiting or similar role
    • Worked in a recruitment agency for a minimum of 2 years
    • Track record of partnership building is advantageous
    • Have a good understanding of the Higher Education
    • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS)
    • Proficiency in interpreting assessments

    Curriculum Coordinator: Existing Programmes

    CORE PURPOSE

    To coordinate the various processes of reviewing, updating and rewriting of existing module guides between the various stakeholders to ensure that this is aligned with MANCOSA’s vision and mission.

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    • Accurately compile Curriculum Structures, Programme Information Sheets, Prescribed and Recommended Readings Lists, Generic Module Lists, Stand Alone Module List,s and Module Guides for existing programmes while maintaining quality and consistency as per the Department’s requirements and standards per intake
    • Plan and manage the sourcing, reviewing, interviewing, contracting, and training of Programme Advisory Committee members, updaters, moderators, and reviewers per project
    • Coordinate and manage module guide update process via the Curriculum Development Management System (CDMS) per intake
    • Complete digitizing of Module Guides as per requirements to maintain quality and consistency as and when required
    • Contribute to the achievement of student success via engaging and solving curriculum-related student queries and ensuring module guides are of a high-quality standard per intake 
    • Coordinate the printing of study materials per intake
    • Accurately complete tracking documentation, related statistics, and reports about Existing Programmes processes and meetings
    • Regularly manage and monitor Existing Programmes’ documentation as and when required
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings  efficiently and professionally as and when required
    • Participate in regulatory body activities as and when required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum Honours or Equivalent 

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 1-2 year of work experience within an academic environment
    • Have a good understanding of the Higher Education landscape
    • Understanding of curriculum and regulatory compliance (e.g. SAQA, DHET, and CHE)

    Core Purpose

    The core purpose of the job is to comply with initiatives relating to the key institutional objectives of growth, stakeholder engagement, and academic excellence.
