    Senior Manager: Fintech Beyond Payment Architecture

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    • The Senior Manager: Fintech Beyond Payment Architecture is accountable for Fintech Beyond Payment vision, strategy and value realisation management across MTN Group. The role is responsible for defining the target Fintech Beyond Payment Architecture. In particular, the role will focus on BankTech, InsurTech, MTN Grow and Payments.
    • The position is responsible for articulating the roadmap,and oversee the delivery plans to support business processes and services across the enterprise through the effective leadership and orchestration of people, products, partners and relevant processes.

    Key area of focus is the development of robust relationships with all the relevant stakeholders to support the transformation agenda across the various Business units.
    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
    The Senior Manager: Fintech Beyond Payment Architecture will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Sets the Fintech Beyond Payment mission and vision to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset
    • Leads the development of Fintech Beyond Payment technology, and Operations strategy, and associated execution roadmap to address the needs of the stakeholders.
    • Provides Implementation leadership working with the Technology teams in Group and Opcos on the plans and the governance required to prioritize resources (including budget), optimize returns on investments (e.g. via automation, cost optimization and quality management) and ensure the delivery of the agreed outcomes
    • Provides strategic direction, guidance and oversight for the Fintech Beyond Payment Architecture, engineering and operations (incl capacity planning) activities
    • Collaborates extensively with Group Information Security and Opcos to enable the successful delivery of the Information Security agenda
    • Oversees Fintech Beyond Payment Capex and Opex across Group and OpCos
    • Enables innovation and seeks to leverage the relevant technology trends – e.g. artificial intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), blockchain, edge computing – that can create value consistent with the strategic goals of the Business
    • Works closely with the Group Procurement towards the appropriate sourcing strategy, supports cost optimization and license agreement initiatives, leads technical assessments of Group Request For Proposals, supports OpCos’ infrastructure procurement activities and runs the strategic vendor and partner relationship management for Fintech Beyond Payment providers

    Key Deliverables

    • Maintains up-to-date the portfolio of the approved Fintech Beyond Payment and tools partners.
    • Deliver on the Fintech Beyond Payment transformation initiatives in general.
    • Work with the Core Fintech Group technology team to ensure seamless delivery between the teams.
    • Support OPCOs in meeting Oxygen index targets.
    • Document the Fintech Beyond Payment Architecture blueprint timeously.
    • Liaise with the Fintech Business team to ensure their requirements and roadmaps are met timeously.
    • Work with vendors to develop Support dashboards to be consumed by OPCOs and Group functions.
    • Be an authority across the Group on all matter relating to Fintech Beyond Payment .
    • Procure and configure tools to be utilized in the Fintech Beyond Payment Platforms, in a timely and cost effective manner.
    • Provide thought leadership and managerial guidance to the Fintech Beyond Payment team in Group and in the OPCOs.
    • Support and work very closely with the IT infrastructure team, the enterprise architecture team and the security team to deliver on strategic priorities.
    • Support the API software development team to ensure seamless and consistent delivery of FintechAPIs.
    • Support the Chenosis team, Global connect (and others) in so far as Fintech Beyond Payment support is concerned.
    • Ensure the remediation of vulnerabilities on the Fintech Beyond Payment Platforms in line with the Group Information Security Policies.
    • Manages and evolves the operating model to be aligned with continuous evolution in the Business needs and way of working
    • Drives the development and adoption of standards relevant to the Fintech Beyond Payment across the organization
    • Works with HR and the IT leadership team to manage the Fintech Beyond Payment talent within the organization for current and future needs

    Role Dependencies

    • Active support from the General Manager Digital Platform & Services
    • Active collaboration with Group Information Security, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources and Finance teams.
    • Deep understanding of the MTN business strategy
    • Understanding of the Opco technology, business and regulatory context

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree with Honours (B Eng / BSc Degree Preferred)
    • MBA / Masters advantageous
    • English, French and Arabic (as advantage)

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 – 4 years of Line Management Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of Technology Architecture experience
    • Fintech experience will be advantageous.
    • Cloud workload deployment in a Cloud will be advantageous.
    • Azure experience would be advantageous
    • Good communication skills at the highest level (e.g. GOC and EXCO) levels
    • Minimum 5 years in telecommunications/Bankiing/Insurance industry

    Senior Manager – Regional Operations MENA (06 Months Rotation)

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job:
    The Senior Manager Regional Operations is responsible for ensuring Commercial and Operations alignment across the region, through driving good governance and the delivery of key regional strategic objectives. The role is responsible for the consolidation and implementation of regional strategic initiatives, projects and processes that support the achievement of commercial and operational targets, under direction from the General Manager.

    This is a short term secondment (6 Months Rotation) and not a permanent role. Only Internal Candidates
    Key Job Responsibilities
    Operational Commercial Business Plan Alignment
    – Align OpCo plans with regional strategy.
    – Ensure commercial business plan alignment with group virtual team per region.
    – Provide direction and insight to OpCo Commercial/ GTM strategies. (Communication, pricing, product, channel, business case, launch plan, customer experience) in the region.
    – Define requirements for business operations capabilities and measurement
    – Define business performance process and matrix for OpCo cluster.

    Operational Monitoring and Reporting
    – Monitor regional compliance with regulatory requirements.

    – Oversee the Consumer Business budgets in line with the set DOAs, business objectives and provide insights into forecasting
    – Oversee project initiative budgets in line with the specified delegation of authorities and approvals

    • Develop job profiles relevant to the positions in the BOOST & Group Corporate Services functions, along with the functional leaders, in line with the OD and Rewards Policies. Ensure appropriate protocols and approvals are obtained prior to rollout.
    • Timely communication of new/revised job profiles to HR Operations Team for operational implementation
    • Responsible to ensure job/position evaluation for BOOST & Group Corporate Services

    • Develop the workforce transition strategy and plan along with the BOOST & Group Corporate
    • Services leaders. Socialize and monitor progress of fully approved transition plans which are delivered by HR Operations teams
    • Periodically review, analyse and report on OD and People data for the BOOST & Group Corporate Services functions to ensure compliance to the Global Data and OD standards and policies.
    • Prepare, present and report on key organization design metrics such as span of control, organization layers, headcount and critical position vacancies for the Manco Business Units, in line with the practices defined by the Global Organization Architecture Team

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:
    – Minimum of 3 year tertiary degree / diploma (Human Resource/ Behavioural Sciences/
    Business Studies / Management and/or Equivalent)
    – Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional bodies in the area
    of organization design, business performance & productivity etc. (advantageous)
    Experience:
    – Minimum of 5 years’ experience in working in the HR domain in telecommunication
    environment with specific focus on OD, performance management and workforce
    planning
    – Demonstrated experience partnering with clients on solving business/operational issues
    through the application of progressive people systems (Human Resources) practices.
    – Project management experience
    – Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
    – Experience working in a medium to large organization
