    Job Description    
    Purpose of the job:

    • Premier Fort Jackson Bakery is currently looking for a Loader to join their team. This position will be reporting to the Dispatch Supervisor, with the responsibility of loading and offload bread on site. This is a 6-day position and if you meet the below requirements, then we are looking for you.

    Responsibilities:

    • Offload and loading bread according to offloads/ loading SOP
    • Follow pipeline loading/offloading sequence
    • Tray count and balancing of trays in a truck
    • Attend daily invocoms
    • Ensure that quality bread is loaded / offloaded
    • Ensure a correct stock rotation (FIFO)
    • Report back on loading /offloading related matters to offloads supervisors
    • Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Grade 12 with numerical skills
    • At least 3 months’ experience in a similar position in the FMCG industry

    Shift Production Manager

    Job Description    

    Purpose of the job: Manage the production shift responsible to manufacture bread to the desired quality specifications, on time and in full within the required costs, also ensuring a high-performance culture (The Premier way).

    1. Ensure optimal production efficiencies and effectiveness by overseeing the production team and processes in line with agreed Premier standard operating procedures, food and health and safety requirements as well as cost and quality requirements.
    2. To ensure baking process delivers consistent high-quality products within specifications in collaboration with the maintenance department by:

    •  Ensuring adherence to baking process parameters.
    •  Identifying exceptions and variations in process and correct in process and correct.
    •  Identifying exceptions and variations in equipment and report these to the maintenance manager to correct.
    •  Support route cause analysis when needed to address and correct.
    •  Follow up and check that problem has been addressed and that baking process is back within parameters.
    •  Driving a quality mindset within production in collaboration with the quality control department in dealing with non-conforming products or customer complaints and collaborating on ways to improve quality.
    •  Driving continuous improvement of production processes based on the feedback from quality and the production team and doing internal and external benchmarking from time to time.

    3. Ensure cost effective raw material management by:

    •  Correct and timely procurement of raw materials within specifications from preferred and approved providers
    •  Reporting non-conforming products to Quality Control department to address as and when required.
    •  Ensuring storeman receives and checking deliveries against order and raw material specifications
    •  Monitoring and managing stock levels in line with baking plans and demand

    4. Ensure high performance culture and teamwork in the production team by:

    • Building and motivating capability though competency-based selection training and development, coaching, mentoring, performance management effective communications leading and participating in Invocoms and meetings as needed ensuring good discipline and accountability establishing good working relationships with union representatives ensuring a conducive and safe working environment according to the Premier way

    5. To ensure full statutory compliance to all health and safety and food safety requirements in line with Premier standards and SOP’s by ensuring training of relevant persons, audits and corrective action of all findings in collaboration with the risk function
    6. Ensure cost effective production through planning, organising and managing the function to support optimal production in line with designed capacity of the plant, agreed budget, resource plans and targets.
    Qualification Requirements    

    •  Grade 12 or equivalent
    •  Chamber of Baking certificate
    •  Plant Bakery experience essential.

    Experience Requirements    

    • 3 - 5 Years FMCG Plant Bakery Production management experience (plant size minimum of 10 000 loaves per hour)
