    E-Learning Specialist

    Job Description

    The AVI HR Services team requires an E-Learning Specialist to manage the eLearning portfolio for AVI. This would include the running of the LMS platform, including the design and implementation thereof, the thorough understanding of business eLearning requirements, as well as the smooth running and quality assurance of the online training material. This individual would also be accountable for the user experience as well as the business needs analysis and reporting on learning progress. This individual will also be required to translate existing courses into online content.

    The role will suit someone with the ability to understand each businesses unique requirements, to translate those onto an LMS in an efficient and effective manner, and who enjoys working with systems in a busy environment.  A proven record of accomplishment in creating and developing training material that speaks to users would also be required.   This role will be based in Bryanston and report directly to the HR Services Executive.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The successful individual will be accountable and responsible for the eLearning portfolio at AVI, which will include but not be limited to, the below key job functions:

    • Maintaining and building relationships with key customers at all our businesses nationally (Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg)
    • Designing, developing and implementing various eLearning solutions for the entire business
    • Administrator on Moodle learning management system, SharePoint video portal and Team SharePoint Site
    • Design, develop and maintain online (synchronous and asynchronous) learning material (according to the storyboard in line with instructional design principles) to all disciplines that is user-friendly, legible and understandable in order to provide an alternative interactive training platform for the education of relevant stakeholders
    • Design and develop e-learning content using various technologies. For example Articulate Suite, Captivate 9 and Adobe Creative Suite
    • Upload the completed online learning material to the delivery mediums (CD’s, and Learning Management System) in order for the relevant stakeholders to be able to access
    • Monitor, track and report on the online learning material in order to ensure appropriate usage and relevance in line with organisational goals (Via the LMS)
    • Extract data from LMS database, customize in excel and compile reports for distribution to key stake holders
    • Manage and maintain relationships with business owners, relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts (internal and external) in order to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
    • Research and investigate new trends, review and make recommendations for implementation of new learning technology/tools
    • SAP Functional training co-ordination for new users
    • Ensure the buy-in and marketing of the eLearning portfolio to ensure maximum benefit to business
    • Continuous communication and insight to various business units in order to ensure all eLearning opportunities are fully utilised.
    • Responsible for travelling to the various sites and business’

    Experience Required

    • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role gained within a corporate environment
    • Experience in course material design
    • Experience with design software

    Minimum Qualifications Required

    • A completed tertiary qualification in Training and Development or System Development or similar

    • Knowledge of SAP systems training advantageous

    Engineering Foreman

    Job Description

    An opportunity has become available for a qualified and experienced individual to join our Entyce Beverages team in Durban in the position of Engineering Foreman. This position reports directly to the Site Engineering Manager.

    Duties include:

    Health, Safety and Environment

    • Adhere to, and ensure compliance by subordinates to the company safety policies and procedures
    • Assist with obtainment and maintenance of relevant health, safety and environmental management system standards
    • Ensure equipment compliance with relevant safety regulations, including the General Machinery and Driven Machinery Regulations
    • Ensure facilities and infrastructure are conducive to employee health and wellness

    Food Safety

    • Adhere to, and ensure compliance by subordinates to FSSC 22000, AIB and ISO principles
    • To ensure site infrastructure and equipment are installed and maintained in such a manner that Food Safety is not compromised.
    • Ensure standard of utilities (water and compressed air) in respective area of responsibility, is in line with Food Safety Standards
    • Manage all requirements related to CCP and OPRP equipment (calibration, validation, maintenance, etc.)
    • Ensure that direct reports are trained on, and comply to Maintenance for Food Safety Procedures

    Plant Availability and reliability

    • Oversee all relevant maintenance activities for area of responsibility
    • Assist and oversee high-level breakdowns to ensure quick turnaround times
    • Analyse breakdowns and provide recommendations to reduce downtime for area of responsibility
    • Ensure factory efficiency demands are met as per business targets(Availability and OEE)
    • Ensure availability and reliability of equipment for area of responsibility
    • Provide expert advice in area of responsibility
    • Assist with developing and maintaining a problem-solving culture within the department (direct reports) through facilitating and sustaining root cause analysis practices
    • Ensure that maintenance strategies are implemented
    • Ensure that the job card processes including monitoring, allocation, close-out and backlog for area of responsibility are up to date
    • Ensure the artisans execute maintenance activities as per CMMS (Asset care system) schedules. This includes preventative, pro-active and breakdown schedules and procedures and auditing of work performed with the maintenance planner
    • Ensure that stock requirements (critical spares, slow-moving, redundant) for equipment in area of responsibility have been ordered and will be in store
    • Assist with reviewing OEM recommended spares and identification and classification of critical spares
    • Participate in scoping and procurement of new plant equipment to ensure adherence to site Engineering standards
    • Provide input for the upkeep of the site Engineering standards specification document
    • Workshop housekeeping, GMP and environmental compliance and related activities must adhere to relevant standards
    • Input into development and coordination of annual maintenance plan and communication with all relevant stakeholders, with main focus on execution of plan
    • Assist with planning of new installations, upgrades and modifications to the existing plant in a safe and effective manner.
    • Formulate equipment strategies as to how one will bring equipment back to their standard forms
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with team

    Systems and reporting

    • Assist with the Computerised Maintenance Management System, ensuring reliability and integrity of information
    • Report on asset care schedule compliance, artisan utilisation, employee management control
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant procedures
    • Raising, and closing out of NCR’s in connection with equipment related food safety incidents
    • Deliver on monthly reports

    Budget

    • Ensure monthly spending of the allocated responsible cost centre is within the budget amount.

    Projects

    • Assist with commissioning and handover of projects
    • Assist with identifying areas of improvement (continuous improvement projects)
    • Planning and execution of large maintenance projects

    Management

    • Lead mechanical and electrical artisan teams
    • Ensuring appropriate resources for departmental requirements
    • Assist with updating and implementation of skills matrix as well as coordination of training
    • Plan and control engineering tasks; allocate resources to activities; control labour scheduling; overtime and cost control for area of responsibility
    • Planning, scheduling, monitoring and evaluating of artisan tasks according to the CMMS (Asset care system)
    • Ensure that labour allocation and hours of work are in accordance with the Basic Conditions of Employment and Labour Relations Act
    • Hold artisans accountable for non-performance, strong people management skills
    • Review completed job cards and approve, ensure artisan completing job cards correctly
    • Hold 1 on 1 discussions and evaluate IPA’s with artisans

    Knowledge required:

    • Working knowledge on Packing Machines - Work with food processing equipment, IMA Tea machinery, conveyors, Kliklok cartoning, CAMA packing, Cermex, Bailers, PFM flow wrappers, Marden Edwards over wrapper, shrink tunnels and general factory equipment experience will be advantageous
    • Have experience with key utility equipment, i.e. Compressors, Generators, Extraction systems, Cooling Systems, Emergency fire systems, water reticulations systems
    • CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) knowledge(preferably PRAGMA)
    • IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows-based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook is essential, with a certain level of SHOPWARE experience
    • TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) Occupational Health and Safety and Food Safety Regulations (FSSC 22000, AIB and ISO) QMS, HACCP and GMP’s
    • Understand the methodology and benefits of preventative, pro-active maintenance and maintenance scheduling and execution

    Special requirements:

    • Must be prepared to work overtime, be on call and on stand-by duty
    • Attend Monday morning plant start-up at 6am

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A Qualified trade tested artisan Mechanical/Electrical/Millwright
    • Minimum of 6 years’ post-trade test experience in FMCG environment is essential
    • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment specifically in FMCG is essential
    • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
    • Must have your own reliable transport
    • Knowledge and experience on On Key CMMS

    Service Engineer

    THE ROLE

    An exciting opportunity exists for a SERVICE ENGINEER SYSTEMS at AVI LIMITED Financial Shared Services in Cape Town.  The purpose of the role is to provide users guidance and first and second-line support by assisting in problem resolution. They are to provide a high quality technical and procedural assistance with all aspects of technology, both telephonically and via AVI’s call logging system.

    Responsibilities include the ability to identify, research and resolve technical problems. To respond to telephone calls directly assigned to them, emails and in-person request for technical support. Take ownership of technical issues as well as resolve, document, track and monitor problems.

    The Service Engineer (Systems) is tasked with complying with all of AVI’s policies and procedures associated with IT Service Management.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Call Resolution at a minimum of 20 Calls Per A Day
    • Ensure That Third Party Calls Are Followed Up On
    • Ensure Grade Of Service Stays Above 85% On Wallboard
    • Ensure Calls Are Resolved Within Agreed SLA
    • The job holder's duties include installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all infrastructure components such as server hardware, patches storage systems, virtualisation platforms, software automation and monitoring and supporting software systems.
    • The incumbent will need to perform close monitoring of the systems using the relevant monitoring tools and react quickly to alerts as well as resolve complex problems as they occur including driving out Alerts.
    • He/She will also be responsible for reboots on SAP and other business-critical systems to OS level (which include but is not limited to: SAP ERP, BIW, BOBJ, CRM, Solution Manager, MSBI)

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    SHE Manager

    The Role

    An opportunity has become available with National Brands Limited for an experienced SHE Manager to join our Snackworks Isando site, reporting directly to the Operations Executive. The SHE Manager will oversee safety, health and environmental matters to ensure the site complies with statutory requirements. The role includes the management of fire and security risks and waste management for the site. Duties include:

    Safety

    • Site compliance to OHS Act and other relevant regulations and legislation, including: Legal appointments, SHE committee, Permits, etc.
    • Conduct risk assessments and manage programs to reduce risks to acceptable levels 
    • Implement behaviour based safety program
    • Visible safety leadership, including; red tagging, housekeeping, signage update programs
    • Report on and investigate all incidents and near misses
    • Achieve site ISO 45000 accreditation by end FY20
    • Contractor management including induction, 37(2) Mandatory Agreements and COID Registration Control
    • Visitor induction upgrade
    • Dust explosion and/or MHI assessments
    • Allocate responsibilities to areas within plant for housekeeping and red tagging exercises
    • Conduct internal compliance and safety audits, report on findings and manage issue log through to completion
    • Monitor and manage the cost of PPE
    • Conduct or organise relevant health and safety training for staff as required, including; first aid and fire fighting
    • Advise the 16(2) and GMR 2(1) responsible people on all SHE issues
    • Liaise with DoL and municipalities where required

    Environment and Waste Manangement

    • Achieve or maintain site ISO14000 accreditation

    • Manage effluent treatment plant contractor and report on performance 
    • Implement practises to reduce total waste to landfill and improve site sustainability practises 
    • Manage and report on water and energy usage and implement programs to improve sustainability practises
    • Manage environmental systems and legislation 

    Fire and Security Risk

    • Fire and Emergency response protocol and emergency preparedness of site
    • Conduct fire drills
    • Fire equipment audits, inspections and tests
    • Co-ordinate with group risk advisory (AVI and Marsh) and facilitate audits
    • Achieve site ASIB compliance
    • Improve practises and system to improve Marsh risk audit scoring
    • Responsibility for the access control system maintenance
    • Drive loss prevention and risk reduction programs at the site
    • Monitor and manage the security contractor
    • Manage CCTV system and interactions with ITSS to ensure continued operation of the surveillance system

    Experience required:

    • A minimum of 10 years experience in a SHE Manager or OHS Manager role gained in FMCG or Manufacturing

    Qualifications and knowledge required:

    • A completed tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety / Health, Safety and Environmental Management (NDip / BTech / BSc)
    • ISO 18000 (45000) and ISO 14000 auditor status
    • Formal training and auditor status in an integrated Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) programme (e.g. ISO 45000)
    • Specialist knowledge and practical application of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act
