    Maintenance Site Buyer

    Job Description

    A career opportunity has arisen in the Maintenace Department - Premier Milling - Vereeniging. This position is responsible for maintaining sufficient maintenance stocks in accordance with maintenance site requirements and standards
    Qualification Requirements    
    • Matric / Grade 12
    Experience Requirements    
    • 2 – 3 years milling industry experience
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a buyer
    • Knowledge of mechanical / electrical would be an advantage
    If in position of a trade qualification it will be an added advantage.
    Key Outputs    
    • Manage all aspects of purchasing and distribution while considering cost effective solutions.
    • Communicate with the client, foster a team atmosphere, and report on progress.
    • Assess purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
    • Receive price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements, the budget, and purchase orders.
    • Record orders on C Works and expedite delivery of components/Items ordered.
    • Report to Invocom once a week the status of orders and maintenance expenditure within budget.

    Technician Lab

    Job Description    

    • To perform the necessary quality control
    • Test and checks as stipulated in the QC Manual to ensure that all products
    • To timeously and accurately conduct quality control checks and tests on incoming raw material, in process product and finished/packed goods to achieve quality standards as per the SOP.
    • To timeously ensure that testing equipment are in good condition to ensure accuracy of results.
    • To analyse and record the results to verify whether the products are within specification and inform line and or supervisor accordingly.
    • To timeously and accurately conduct line trials and experiments assisting R&D to contribute to quality improvements, innovation, and new product developments.
    • To timeously and accurately conduct internal and external shelf-life evaluations to verify shelf-life and product quality.
    • To maintain general standard of housekeeping and safety to meet GLP standards.
    • To ensure Food Safety (FSSC 22000) adherence.
    • To ensure that the OHS Act is complied with.
    • To ensure timeous and accurate results capturing onto LIMS.
    • Adhere to daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules to ensure that the Laboratory and equipment is always in a clean condition.
    • General deep cleaning of the laboratory should be maintained monthly during maintenance (Walls, Windows, Cupboards etc.)
    • Daily, weekly, monthly maintenance of equipment as per operator manual

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
    • Qualified Food Technologist or relevant science degree

    Experience Requirements    

    • 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment will be an advantage.
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Office package)

    Artisan: Technician

    Job Description    

    • To carry out responsibilities of Plant functions and engineering functions of the site maintenance teams, whereby carrying out repairs and maintenance to the electrical and mechanical assets as well as plant settings and synchronization at the bakery.
    • Monitor and adjust when necessary plant set points to ensure effective and efficient running of plants
    • Inspection of all electrical and mechanical equipment on
    • Bakery site
    • Monitor and inspect plant for potential and existing defects
    • Carrying out of scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment
    • Fault finding and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment
    • Installation and project work as required
    • Perform standby on a rotational basis
    • Work overtime as a result of breakdowns and planned maintenance when required.

    • Report any defects noticed while performing normal functions.

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Appropriate engineering qualifications (trade test + N3 and N6)
    • MERSETA qualification preferred

    Experience Requirements    
    Minimum 2 years’ experience in baking and milling environment, after obtaining qualifications as an Electrician/Millwright/Instrument Technician with the focus on the following:

    • Hands on knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems
    • Experience with scales, speed drives, pneumatic, electrical, instrumentation and hydraulics
    • Must be able to read and update electrical drawings
    • Experience with electrical power distribution (medium and low voltage)
    • Knowledge of safety checks on mechanical equipment in accordance with OHSA
    • Knowledge of Omron HMI, PLC Software
    • Knowledge of Yaskawa Inverter Drives
    • Knowledge of Scada Systems
    • Understanding of Computer Networks shift work standby on a rotational basis
    • Candidates are required to have their own tools

    • To manage, maintain and improve operational KPI’s and cost efficiency of sales by minimizing cost to service without jeopardizing customer service.
    • To manage third party suppliers or outsourced service providers to ensure good execution and customer services to our customers.
