    Machine Operator

    Description

    Mount Nelson Hotel is looking for a Machine Operator to join the Laundry team:

    • Operating of the machines on a daily basis within the Laundry department, which includes the following machines, Girbau, Ipso, Dry cleaning machine, tumble driers and roller Ironer.

    • Ensure that all machines are cleaned and in good working condition.

    • Sorting of different linen types and specification of garments.

    • Ensure that the linen/garments get the correct chemical dosage where necessary.

    • Ensure that all linen loads are recorded on a spreadsheet daily for the monthly production purposes.

    • Ensure that the particular machines are being loaded according to the washing process.

    • Report any broken or faulty machinery immediately.

    • Count & assist with monthly/quarterly operating equipment stock count.

    • Fulfil any other reasonable duties that you may be asked to perform.

    Requirements

    • Previous machine operator experience on washing machines will be an advantage.

    • Detail orientated with a concern for quality and quantity.

    • The ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.

    • Excellent time management skills.

    • Strong technical and basic maintenance skills will be an advantage.

    • Knowledge of linen classifications.

    • Knowledge on chemicals advantageous.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized.

    • Plating and presenting meal items as per the seniors’ instructions.

    • Ensures hygiene and cleanliness of his/her area at all times.

    • Judging quality of raw material & providing quality finished products.

    • To carry out any additional tasks as assigned.

    • Should maintain awareness of food cost, ensure minimum spoilage and wastage at all times.

    Requirements

    • Graduate from a Hotel Management Institute or Food Production Course from a reputed institute – advantageous.

    Bartender

    Description

    Main duties and responsibilities:

     

    • Provide beverage service to guests in a professional and courteous manner consistent with established standards and service levels.

    • Interact with guests, provide recommendations and suggestions to guest for choosing drinks and snacks.

    • Taking inventory and ordering supplies (with the approval of the Outlet Manager) to ensure the bar and table supplies are well-stocked.

    • Complete a daily stock take sheet.

    • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.

    • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, and balancing the cash register.

    • Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with the necessary equipment and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests. This includes stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce.

    • Maintaining a clean work area which includes removing trash, cleaning tables, washing glasses, utensils, and equipment, mopping and sweeping, and deep cleaning the fridges.

    • Staying up to date with the food and beverage offerings on the menu, to assist guests with any queries and recommendations.

    • Respond promptly to requests from guests in a polite and professional manner, in accordance to LQA standards.

    • Responsible for maintaining the back of house prep rooms.

    • Provide the service staff and manager on duty with a daily out of stock update.

    • Assist with the setting up and replenishing of bar snacks, napkins, ashtrays, and other counter items.

    • Assist with ensuring the correct storage, handling, and inventory of all items of stock and equipment.

    • Manage the processes to ensure no beverage items ever reaches its expiry dates.

    • Assisting with F&B Attendant duties as and when required, to support the team to ensure that the outlet operates smoothly.

     

    Requirements

    • Hospitality qualification advantageous.

    • 1- 2 years relevant experience in a similar position within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Knowledge of silverware – advantageous.

    • Excellent knowledge of liquors, spirits, beers, wines and flavour profiles.

    • Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks.

    Groups and Events Coordinator

    Description

    We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Groups and Events Coordinator to join our wonderful Groups and Events team. Here at Mount Nelson, our venues provide the perfect setting; whether you’re planning a large-scale business event, a show stopping wedding reception or a more intimate cocktail party, our team puts together some incredible events.     Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Preparing quotes, making follow-up calls with prospective clients and holding meetings with clients who are interested in hosting an event.

    • Quote and contract all potential business through all available booking channels.

    • To optimise sales & profitability through an effective and efficient reservations process whilst enhancing relationships with existing clients.

    • Manage site inspections in conjunction with the Sales team.

    • Spend time in each function / event to ensure that the guests and organisers are well looked after and to support banqueting where needed.

    • To ensure that function sheets are compiled accurately on a weekly basis and that any changes are recorded on change sheets and distributed to the relevant parties.

    • Maintain close working relationships with all other departments in the Company; keeping them updated and involved in all details of upcoming functions and groups.

    • Ensure you remain knowledgeable on all aspects relating to the hotel room configuration and banqueting operation and services available; menu options, beverage knowledge, wine lists, function room layout, hotel room layout etc.

    • Inform other departments and follow up with regards to special instructions / requests.

    • Preparing the daily change sheet and distributing accordingly. Performing daily banking duties.

    • Preparing the weekly function run pack and distributing accordingly.

    • Taking refunds, commission claims etc. to accounts daily.

    • Printing of all menus, name place cards and door cards.

    • Assisting clients with floor plans when required with the use of Visio.

    • Qualifying group enquiries in the absence of the Sales Manager or Groups and Events Manager.

    • To ensure that function sheets and Group file covers are compiled and distributed on a weekly basis and that any changes are recorded on change sheets and distributed to the relevant parties.

    • In the absence of the manager, attend weekly Groups meetings to ensure sufficient follow up and information shared with Sales team.

    Requirements

    • Diploma or degree from a reputable hotel school – preferred .

    • 3-5 years Groups and Events experience, within a luxury environment -preferred.

    • Previous junior sales and reservations experience – advantageous.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Excellent computer literacy.

    • Excellent organisation and time management skills.

We are looking for a Spa Receptionist / Therapist with a strong commitment to excellence who will uphold our high professional standards and enhance our guests’ experience.

     

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • To greet the guests at reception and assisting with post treatment sales.

    • To co-ordinate with the therapists regarding the daily appointments by allocating the time accordingly.

    • To record all guests & treatment details for the data base.

    • Answering of the phone and emails, scheduling of appointments.

    • Assist the guests in selecting their treatment & explain the treatment procedures.

    • Deliver a variety of spa services (body treatments, massages, facials, waxing and manicure/pedicure) in a safe and comfortable manner.

    • Suggest and promote retail products or additional services.

    • Strive to achieve the highest standards through continuous education in treatments.

    • Provide the guests with high quality of service at every stage of their spa experience.

    • Check whether the guest has any allergies or injuries prior to the treatment or previous medical history which prevent him/her from undergoing the spa treatment.

    • Ensure a proficiency of all treatments offered at the spa & have a good working knowledge of all spa facilities.

    • To ensure that hygiene standards are adhered to at all times & disinfecting the treatment surfaces & equipment between treatments as per laid down standards & procedures.

    • Appropriately prepare and setup spa treatments in the Spa.

    • To ensure that the spa is neat, clean & tidy at all times & help in retaining the aesthetic beauty of the same.

    • Maintain equipment and inventory of products.

    • Acknowledge and respond to relevant customer queries, needs and expectations.

    • To respect the guest at all times and be discrete with any confidential matters the guest bestows upon you be it of a conversational nature or of a physical nature such as skin conditions or ailments. Delicate aspects of your post are only to be discussed with the Spa Manager.

    • Accurate monthly stock taking in the absence of the Spa Manager.

    • Ensure that the correct uniform is worn and a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene is maintained.

    • Ensure the Spa Manager is kept informed of any developments and guest queries.

    • To brief the Spa Manager on any feedback received & any follow-up on work to be carried out by the maintenance department

    Requirements

    • Have at least one of the following qualifications: CIDESCO, ITEC or SAAHSP.

    • At least 2-3 years’ experience as a therapist in a stand-alone spa or hotel.

    • Previous experience within a reception role.

    • Good communication skills.

    • Knowledge about human anatomy, body types, muscles and joints.

    • Knowledge on various massages and oils.

    • Excellent customer service orientation.

    • Genuine interest and passion for wellness and body therapy.

    • To have a thorough knowledge of all skin care, body & products being used at the spa & be able to use & prescribe products appropriately
