    Counsellor SWSS - Cape Town

    Key Duties and Responsibilities  

    • Provide HIV testing services (HTS) to clients in line with DoH policies and guidelines and in line with District 909090 DIP and Sub-district IP 909090 plans 
    • Provide HTS at facility and community level and other out-of-facility sites whenever required.
    • Promote HTS through health talks and by participating in social mobilisation activities.
    • Provide post-test counselling and adherence support to clients.
    • Link HIV positive clients to facility for ARV initiation or mobile van
    • Trace all positive tested clients who were not initiated same day.
    • Be available to assist all HIV patients in the facility and community with relevant counselling needs.
    • Ensure that all clients tested HIV positive are linked into care and keep a record of how many are initiated on Antiretroviral treatment.
    • Report challenges related to the referral system and linkage to care to Community Coordinator.
    • Keep an updated record of number of clients who were offered HTS, tested, tested HIV positive, and linked into care, in line with tools used by DoH and Anova (should there be additional data capturing tools) and record it daily in the facility register.
    • Identify critical programme stakeholders and establish working relationships with them.
    • Provide feedback to the Community Coordinator on facility and community on social dynamics that impact on project activities.

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required 

    • Matric qualification 
    • Training and certification in Basic HIV and Aids, STI and TB (HAST), HIV Counselling, Adherence counselling, and finger pricking.
    • ROTF support counselling
    • Adherence clubs
    • Certificate in Couple counselling, RTCQI, disclosure and paediatric consent is advantageous.
    • Minimum two years’ experience as a counsellor
    • Minimum two-year experience in HIV or public health environment
    • Knowledge of DoH HTS guidelines and protocols
    • General knowledge of health education
    • General knowledge of TB/HIV/PMTCT programme guidelines/counselling messages

    Youth Ambassador - JHB

    Key Duties and Responsibilities  

    • Serve as youth representative for Anova Health Institute at various youth gatherings and platforms.
    • Serve as a contact person and navigator for young people who need health services to the facility and out of facility.
    • Promote interventions that prevent HIV, TB, STIs and unplanned pregnancy to young people in health facilities & in the community.
    • Conduct demand creation for outreach services to Youth Friendly Services in the facility and in the community
    • Ensure that awareness activities implemented for youth are carried out on time and to a high standard and comply with Anova policies and procedures.
    • Speak publicly about issues vital to the Youth including vulnerable and orphaned youth.
    • Ability to positively influence young people towards behavior modification.
    • Facilitated group discussions and support groups with young people who are on ART or PrEP encouraging them to remain adherent.

    • Support re-engagement of clients who have disengaged from care.

    Essential qualifications and experience

    External Liaison - Polokwane

    Key duties and responsibilities

    Strengthening Health System and Communication

    • Identify key stakeholders (key decision makers, implementers, and senior management) at district levels
    • Orientate senior DOH management to ensure a shared and common understanding of the project’s benefits;
    • Maintain records and status of every engagement related to the project;
    • Develop a database of key stakeholders, contact details, positions, their relationship with Anova  and their role regarding project implementation
    • Ensure effective flow of information between Government and Anova
    • Advise Anova regarding engagements with Government and other stakeholders;
    • Proactively alert Anova of any developments in government that could impede the project’s strategic interests.

     Advocacy

    • Ensure that all programs profile and views are represented at appropriate levels in order to promote Anova’s profile
    • Raise awareness of critical policy issues by contributing at a public level in workshops, conference, writing opinion pieces on behalf of Anova
    • Ensure maximum exposure of Anova profile and views at all public events

     Stake Holder representation and coordination

    • Coordination of developmental partners for quarterly reporting to DoH at district ,Provincial levels
    • Represent development partners in the district at provincial meetings
    • Assist NGO’s with writing of memorandum of understanding with DoH
    • Serve at the district AIDS and technical Aids councils
    • Serve as link between all levels of department and developmental partners

    Senior Technical Advisor:Care & Treatment Services

    Key duties and responsibilities

    Provide senior strategic leadership across the HIV/TB continuum of care

    • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Anova’s HIV/TB programme strategies for specific population groups, including Paediatric, Adolescents, Pregnant & Breastfeeding women, Men, and TB/HIV co-infected clients.
    • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Out of Facility Programme Plan in line with the HIV/TB 95-95-95 strategy and the National Strategic Plan on HIV, TB and STIs, Anova’s strategies, DoH and donor requirements, annual programme activities and work plans by leveraging the Anova team.
    • Support Anova’s initiatives to promote the systemic application of high-quality HIV/TB interventions; lead and/or contribute to the development of strategies and technical guidance for the design, implementation and evaluation of interventions and projects.
    • Actively participate in Anova’s senior management team, providing guidance and support to the other programmes, activities, and special projects across the organisation.
    • Liaise and work closely with other Anova Care and Treatment Service leads and relevant senior Technical Advisors to ensure alignment of the Limpopo HIV/TB programme with similar Anova programmes in other Provinces and facilitate collaboration and learning across programmes.

    Lead and manage a team of clinical and technical specialists to deliver quality HIV/TB services

    • Coordinate closely with Anova’s senior management and the relevant HR teams to appropriately resource relevant district-level teams.
    • Manage and mentor senior and mid-level personnel responsible for the direct management of programme teams.
    • Anticipate implementation challenges and working with the Chief of Party, appropriate programme managers or technical programme  Leads, develop, resource and implement corrective measures.
    • Ensure that quality systems, structures, policies and procedures required for the successful implementation of the programme are in place to deliver performance outputs that are consistent with relevant PEPFAR indicators and Anova’s performance management guidance.
    • Review all aspects of programme-related internal and external reporting to ensure high quality data and/or service delivery.

    Management of Anova sub-awardees

    • Establish relationships with relevant Anova sub-awardees, provide technical guidance and ensure sub-awardees activities align to the Anova programme strategy.
    • Facilitate introduction of sub-awardees to relevant DoH and other stakeholders.
    • Review sub-awardees performance, identify implementation challenges and provide guidance to sub-awardees on corrective measures.

     Position Anova as a leader in public health

    • Promote Anova as a visible leader in the field of public health through networking, strategic engagements, active partnerships, publications and presentations at various forums.

    Essential qualifications and experience

    • A doctoral medical degree together with a Diploma in HIV .
    • A Master’s degree or equivalent in public health, social work, health or business administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of eight years of experience in the implementation of HIV/TB programs, preferably PEPFAR funded .
    • Experience in leading and managing a technical team composed of several HIV/TB and other technical experts .
    • Demonstrated ability to liaise with senior medical officials, government officials, dignitaries, executives of NGOs, FBOs, CBOs, the for-profit business community, and senior members of the donor community.
    • Specialized knowledge and demonstrated expertise in comprehensive HIV and TB services which is necessary for strengthening service delivery at all levels of the health system; and
    •  Demonstrated written, presentation, and communication skills in English .
    • Previous senior leadership, sub grantee/contract oversight and five years of supervisory management experience is required.
    • Proven experience leading and managing a team of diverse technical experts while fostering teamwork and producing high-quality outputs.
    • Demonstrated experience in designing and leading and managing out of facility HIV-service delivery, with working knowledge of linkages between workforce expansion.
    • In-depth understanding of the South African health systems and previous experience working in the DOH/donor-funded environment.

    Senior Technical Advisor: Human Resource For Health

    Key duties and responsibilities

    • Provide overall strategic leadership of the Human Resource for Health (HRH) programme activities.
    • Develop workplans, reporting and monitoring tools and managing the implementation of the workplans.

    Provide Technical Assistance to Provincial and District Department of Health Management teams on: 

    • -implementations of systems and processes to ensure efficient recruitment and management of performance of DoH employees

    Clinical Nurse Practitioner - Cape Town

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide Clinical Services to Clients at our Facility and Community-Based Mobile Teams.
    • Ensure all clinical service provision remains in line with national, provincial and site-level guidelines.
