    Lecturer (Part - Time) Financial ManagementNelson Mandela Bay Rural

    Job Purpose:

    To teach / lecture an agreed number of hours based on module specialisation requirements. To engage and prepare students for assessments by tracking module pacers, identifying and supporting at risk students, managing general student administrative support, and developing assessments by engaging with the Central Academic Team. Assisting the Programme Coordinator in tracking and analysing of academic results to evaluate the performance of the module and to identify “at risk modules.”

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Programme Success Tutor - Johannesburg

    Job Purpose:

    The Online Programme Success Tutor is responsible and accountable for the overall effective and efficient academic student support, success, and retention rates of RC Distance students within designated programmes. Additional responsibility relates to the support of the IIE learning strategies to promote student engagement and success.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Lecturing at least one module to a minimum of 2 groups online. Lesson preparation, marking and moderation as required
    • Minimum research commitment of an action research project dealing with Online related issues that have something to do with the RC Distance context.
    • At least one article in a given academic year is the minimum research requirement.
    • Conduct Lecturer Orientation/Induction sessions
    • Peer Reviewing assigned Online Tutors
    • Conduct Lecturer Forum Meetings
    • Attend Faculty Workshops
    • Planning and facilitation of Online Tutor Programme meetings

    Educational Technologist - Johannesburg

    Job Purpose:

    The Educational Technologist is responsible for providing training and support to the academic staff and students, to promote the adoption and development of online mediation skills in the RC Learn space to enhance the student learning experience. Furthermore, Educational Technologists are required to troubleshoot system errors as they arise.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Implementation of LMS decisions that support strategic imperatives.

    Educational Requirements

    Information Specialists - Johannesburg

    Job Purpose:

    Information Specialists design, develop and manage collections of recorded material and the delivery of information services to users. Library collections can include books, journals, newspapers, pamphlets, manuscripts, maps, films, sound recordings, microfilms, CD-ROMs, e-books, e-journals and databases.     ICT Support - Johannesburg

    Job Purpose:

    Responding and resolving the incidents involving applications and related equipment used at the workplace. Assist users and enable them to make effective use of systems and equipment. Provide support to users and problem-solving on systems in the form of investigating, identification, root cause analysis and resolution of problems, providing info about the systems, and escalating problems not resolved within defined service level requirements.

    Part -Time Invigilator

    Purpose of the job

    The role of the Independent Contractor Invigilator is: 

    • Monitoring students to ensure that there is no malpractice during the assessments.
    • Distributing answer booklets and exam papers to the students.
    • Ensuring that assessments conditions are always adhered to and meet the policy requirements.
    • Preparing the assessment venues to ensure that it meets requirements.
    • Providing support where necessary should an emergency arise e.g., sick student, fire evacuation.
    • Answering any queries that a student may have during the assessment.
    • Provide a detailed and clear report at the end of each session.

    Assessment Security

    • Responsible for safeguarding the safety and integrity of the assessment instrument
    • Monitor the students during the assessment to ensure no irregularities takes place

    Venue Preparation and access
