    Head of Human Capital

    Purpose of Role:

    The Head of Human Capital provides supportive leadership, direction and guidance for the strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations of the Human Capital Department. Providing support in the development and implementation of strategic goals with regards to culture, diversity and transformation, the full recruitment cycle, performance management, employee wellness, leadership and professional development of employees across the network.

    Requirements

    Responsibilities:

    • Assertively leading the Human Capital team in the day-to-day functions and operations with the result of a collaborative, cohesive and efficacy-based team of committed employees who instill a climate and culture of service in all that they do.

    • Actively drive the process of developing company values and behaviours that support a culture that is aligned to our mission.

    • Develops network strategies by identifying and researching human capital needs; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to network strategic thinking and direction; establishing human capital objectives in line with network growth and strategic objectives.

    • Develop and apply change management processes and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by the strategic priorities of the organisation following impact analyses, the assessment of change readiness and identification of key stakeholders.

    • Develops human capital operations and financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.

    • Provides input into the development of annual human capital metrics, which support the network’s objectives of maintaining the culture, the ability to attract talent, sustainable performance, employee wellness, succession planning and leadership development.

    • Interprets and ensures compliance and on-time reporting with regards to the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act and all other relevant acts as per current South African legislation. Drives ongoing compliance regarding B-BBEE as well as SACE and/or other professional bodies within the network.

    • Development, implementation and monitoring of a network diversity and transformation strategy aligned to the growth and strategic objectives of the network.

    • Initiates and accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfilment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.

    • Overseeing the implementation of fair labour practice and healthy employee relations.

    • Take accountability for the outcome of industrial relations matters with an ongoing focus to mitigate labour, commercial and reputational risk.

    • Through organisational design, oversee the productivity and efficiency of the organisation.

    • Ensure the integrity of human capital data. Enforce compliance with ethical and legislative (POPI) standards guided by the company values and mission.

    • Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • Degree in Human Resources / Industrial Psychology or related field

    • Postgraduate qualification advantageous

    Experience:

    • 7 to 10 years Human Capital generalist experience within a service or educational environment or a similar environment.

    • 5 years of people management experience.
