    Academic Support Advisor (Durban Campus)

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Providing academic support and development to SACAP’s students
    • Acting as a point of contact for all academic support and development needs
    • Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
    • Involved in termly orientation per new cohort
    • Monitoring student academic performance and engagement
    • Tracking and documenting national academic support and development metrics
    • Study plans and career guidance
    • Academic one-on-one counselling
    • Awareness / advocacy campaigns re: academic issues
    • Facilitating peer support and peer-assisted learning
    • Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention.
    • Utilizing SACAP’s Student Management System in order to provide expert guidance to SACAP students.

    QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES

    • A minimum of an Honours degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology, Coaching, Sociology, Human Resources, Business Management, Bachelor of Social Science or other degree qualification or other degree qualification;
    • at least 5-years’ experience in a cognate field with high academic results
    • Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
    • 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education.
    • Ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record student data.
    • Knowledgeable and passionate about SACAP and its offerings
    • Highly developed relationship building / interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

    Student Wellness Advisor (Cape Town Campus)

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide individual and/or group counselling (including crisis intervention / debriefing) to students in need of mental health support
    • Acting as a point of contact for all student wellness support and development needs
    • Take on a lead role in student wellness and mental health awareness campaigns and projects
    • Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
    • Involved in termly orientation per new cohort
    • Develop and implement mental health outreach initiatives, including workshops, group sessions, and community events, to promote mental health and wellness among students
    • Tracking and documenting national student wellness support and development metrics
    • Study plans and career guidance
    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement policies and programs that support student well-being and promote a healthy campus environment. Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions with students, including progress notes and treatment plans
    • Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in mental health counselling and wellness promotion
    • Utilising SACAP’s Student Management System to provide expert guidance to SACAP students
    • May act as site coordinator to student counsellors completing their practicum / Work Integrated Learning hours

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of a degree qualification in the discipline of Counselling, Psychology or Coaching; or at least 5-years’ of experience in a cognate field
    • Registered with HPCSA as a Registered Counsellor
    • Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems.
    • 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education.
    • Highly developed relationship-building / interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

    Deputy Dean: Learning and Teaching

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • Leads the development and implementation of institutional learning and teaching strategy.
    • Holds accountability for all quality assurance and regulatory requirements related to learning and teaching at SACAP.
    • Oversees the development and implementation of academic policy related to learning and teaching.
    • Line manages the academic leadership team members responsible for the overall quality of learning and teaching at SACAP, inclusive of the Head of Learning and Teaching, the Head of Work Integrated Learning and the Head of Postgraduate and Professional Programmes.
    • Seeks to network extensively within the public and private higher education sector nationally and internationally in order to expand the academic reputation of SACAP, with a particular emphasis on representing SACAP on various platforms related to learning and teaching.
    • Supports the Dean: SACAP College in the Management of the Academic Department, the Academic Leadership team, as well as the Academic Board.
    • Management of the Academic Department budget related to Learning and Teaching.
    • The Deputy Dean: L&T is a senior manager of SACAP and is therefore responsible for providing leadership, guidance and motivation.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • PhD in Psychology, Education, Training and Development or a relevant tertiary qualification.
    • 5 years + experience in Private Higher Education at a Senior Management Level.
    • A minimum of 10 years + experience at a Senior Management Level in Higher Education.

    Junior Learning and Teaching Coordinator (Online Campus)

    The Junior Learning and Teaching Coordinator will be responsible for the following areas:

    • Communication, coordination alongside and support to the Learning and Teaching Coordinator for the Online Campus.
    • Online Educator Wellness and Engagement
    • Term-on-term timetable scheduling support
    • Liaison & Academic Administration

    Online Faculty coordination (i.e. Educators):

    • Term-on-term New Online Educator Planning
    • Quality Assurance Process Quality Assurance Process Data Management
    • Online Faculty Administration

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of a 3-year undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resource Management or Business Administration
    • At least 3 years of academic administration / coordination experience, preferably within Higher Education in South Africa
    • Technologically savvy / strong digital literacy skills, with a special interest in Online Education
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Highly developed relationship-building / interpersonal skills
    • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Proactive with the ability to anticipate and plan ahead of time
