    Professional Officer

    Requirements

    • Relevant Tertiary Qualification preferably in Engineering (B.Eng / B.Sc.(Eng) / B Tech in Electrical Engineering).

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manages complex refurbishment projects for the upgrading and replacement of protective relaying and control systems.
    • Managing all financial aspects of capital projects including progress payments, sureties, variation orders, penalties, retention funds and approval of final payment certificates to contractors inclusive of rate of exchange.

    Assistant Professional Officer- Bulk Services

    Requirements

    • B Tech Degree in Civil Engineering
    • Eligible for Registration as a Candidate Technologist
    • 0 -3 to years’ relevant post graduate experience
    • Computer literacy: MS Office
    • Must be physically fit
    • A valid Code B Drivers Licence

    Key Performance Areas

    • Identifying, defining and undertaking immediate, short- and long-term planning associated with broadly defined bulk water infrastructure projects, the New Water Programme and other infrastructure projects.
    • Providing inputs to the utilisation, productivity and performance of personnel within the Infrastructure and Project Implementation Section of Bulk Water.
    • Preparing Capital and Operating estimates within a planned project and managing and controlling expenditure against approved budget allocations.
    • Managing multi-disciplinary teams for broadly defined projects including investigations, design, project management, contract administration, construction supervision, commissioning and hand- over of major/minor future infrastructure, upgrades of present infrastructure and operational driven technical projects.
    • Providing engineering guidance, maintaining technical standards and infrastructure and the protection of rights for broadly defined projects.
    • Relationship management and communication.
    • Administration and the safekeeping of written communication.
