Key Purpose
To deal with administration and queries relating to the claims process and to communicate further requirements on claim
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
Telephonic and written correspondence with clients, including doctors, claimant, financial advisors, solicitors etc.
Setting up of payment of benefit or medical report payments.
Notification to Re-assurers regarding details of the claims.
Administration of unemployment claims for waiver of premium.
Administration and preparation of documentation for claims.
Referral of claim for to management, forensics, chief medical officer for input.
Capture and report on claims statistics.

Key Purpose
We are looking for Administrator within the Invest New Busines team who is client centric with a passion for Administration and who embrace our core purpose and and values through every interaction.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
Answer and resolve all calls receive via the New Business Call Centre
Must have the ability to investigate, resolve and provide feedback on all queries
Drive first time resolution
Capture details on Quality centre – service tracker for all queries and calls received into New Business team
Ability to display ownership on a query up to resolution
Filter or refer queries to the correct department and provide feedback to requestor
Capture or record all instructions and information on system
Maintain SLA within various work pools
To capture on Quality centre any possible fix or system issues
To check all relevant required documents is received eg correct application forms, valid bank statement, signed quote
Amend and update QA errors report when necessary
To Capture, Quality Assure and activate new investments, issue the relevant policy schedules, and assist with queries relating to the process

Key to our purpose is obtaining and structuring quality data, leveraging cutting edge analytical innovations and delivering actionable insights in a sustainable and meaningful way. We leverage an integrated, collaborative, and multidisciplinary approach to ensure our objectives and goals are met.
The role entails building and recommending a foundational and sustainable data science system and architecture while considering the current environment. A key focus on scalability, abstraction and frameworks are crucial to succeed in the role. The role will initially build components and systems on the ground while still envision a long-term and sustainable architectural structure. The team is expected to scale rapidly with different leadership roles available. The role may include international exposure with Discovery partnerships.
What you will do
The successful applicant will be working within a highly specialized and growing team to enable delivery of advanced analytics system capability.
Responsibilities will include:
Collaboratively design, specify and implement a full stack healthcare analytics solution underpinned by a project delivery focus
Connecting with a multitude of stakeholders to understand the data, systems, and analytical architecture in a healthcare context
Understand healthcare business pipeline and assess where scalable healthcare analytics can enhance the pipeline
Devise strategy around roll out of healthcare analytics
Specify software and hardware decision making framework
Understanding large structured and unstructured datasets to recommend improvement to algorithms and technologies
Understand meta-data management systems and orchestration architecture in the designing of ML/AI pipelines
Research and application of the most up to date analytics, machine learning and AI techniques
Work with a range of stakeholders to ensure to present and apply insights effectively in the environment
Monitoring model performance
Improve processes and databases where opportunities arise
What skills you will need
Technical skills core:
Expert in programming languages such as R, Python, Scala
Experience in interactive data exploration and data-driven story telling
Understanding and application of Big Data and distributed computing principles (Hadoop and MapReduce)
Strong analytical and statistical knowledge with an understanding of the latest machine learning algorithms for both structured and unstructured data
Strong ability to communicate findings and recommendations from data (visual, verbal and written)

Other analytical qualifications will also be considered if accompanied by the relevant experience
5 to 15 years of experience is preferred

Key Purpose
The Individual Life Analytics team is responsible for strategic and impactful projects for the business. The focus of this role will be to support development and implementation of data science projects in the Advanced Analytics (Data Science) function of the team. The role involves exposure to a wide range of business areas such as underwriting, claims, legal and other operations, as well as the wider Discovery Group.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
Mining large structured and unstructured datasets for data exploration to find new insights
Perform data investigations to inform operational efficiency and interaction strategies
Transform data into meaningful model inputs and data pipelines
Develop and refine predictive models such as fraud, underwriting and customer behavioural models
Support model implementation and monitoring of model performance
Further develop existing models and research new techniques to fully utilise the rich Discovery data universe
Participate in the wider Discovery Data Science community.
Education and Experience
Essential:
Matric with Mathematics
Honours Degree in either Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematical Statistics, Operations Research or Applied Mathematics with some experience in data science, computer science or regularly working with big structured / unstructured sets of data OR
Honours Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with solid experience in statistical modelling, data mining, machine learning or optimisation
At least 2 years of work related experience
Advantageous:
3-5 years of working experience as an Actuary in the Life Insurance industry
Master's Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Data Science / Statistics / Operations Research / Applied Mathematics
3-5 years of working experience as a Data Scientist in the Life Insurance / Financial Services Industry
3-5 years of working experience in Problem Solving and Data Analysis
Qualified / near-qualified actuary with recognised actuarial professional body, e.g. ASSA or IFoA
Experience in a big data environment such as Cloudera or similar
Knowledge:
Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge
Proficient in at least one of R, Python, Spark interpreters or similar
Technical Skills and Knowledge
