    Submission And Assessment Co-Ordinator

    Job Purpose

    • To provide and ensure a professional interface/ service with the submission, collection and any other process of building plan submission and approval. 

    This post reports to REGIONAL CO ORDINATOR (DEVELOPMENT APPL)

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Manages and oversees the submissions and assessment of building plans within the Submissions and Assessment Teams.
    • Ensures an effective staff administration in the division including the monitoring and reviews performance within the team.
    • Approves building plans in terms of the delegated authority for Council, as legislatively defined.
    • Facilitates development applications which are large and complex in nature, which includes strategic Council projects.
    • Takes responsibility for the teams communication with applicants, Council officials and departments, politicians and members of the public with respect to applications.
    • Deals with building plan objections and Section 7 appeals.
    • Maintains a consistent interpretation of the National Building Regulations, the Town Planning Scheme, other relevant acts, codes of practice, policies and bylaws.
    • Supports special programmes and projects by providing specialist technical input to ensure that the priorities and objectives of special programmes are achieved.
    • Mentors and trains Senior Assessment Officers, Assessment Officers and Submissions and Assessment Assistants.
    • Undertakes administrative duties and supports the management of information.

    Job Purpose
    To ensure sustainable development by assessing building plans and recommending approval with due regard to legislation, quality, standards and appropriateness

    Key Responsibility Areas
    Recommends either the approval or decline of building plan applications in terms of the delegated authority for the Building Control Officer.

    • Assesses building plan applications from a technical aspect in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act.
    • Maintains a consistent interpretation of the Regulations, Scheme, other relevant Acts, Codes of Practice, Policies and By-laws.
    • Ensures compliance with the Town Planning Scheme, Town Planning Register and archiving history.

    Manager (Aqua Culturist)

    Job Purpose
    To apply professional zoological science principles pertaining to the field of Ichthyology and controls specialised procedures and processes.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Preparing and submitting cost estimates for inclusion in the budgetary provisioning taking into account trends and/or the extent of advisory and pending project related interventions.
    • Conducting high impact and complex assessments of the water quality requirements from a habitat perspective and introducing changes and proven scientific concepts that can improves breeding.
